Mindfulness Practice (at least 5-days)
—Practice the 12-Minute Body Scan at least 2X and the Focused Attention Practice at least 2X. Recall that attending a Mindful Space counts as your daily practice.
— One day this week, practice outside by scouting out a tree and sitting nearby (it can be the same tree), setting a timer for 12-minutes and use your crayons to draw the tree and you.
Continue to note your practice using the Times, Duration, etc. boxes in the Practice Journal.
Informal Mindfulness Practice
Try to do the PMP Practice at your PMP Point once each day this week.
—Pause (come to a stop)
—Settle (practice open of the breathing practices you learn in Chapter 3)
—Open (looks around and notice things changing (e.g., movement of leaves feel of the air, sound of A/c)
Practice the "But-for Pause" "Drop the Story, Feel the Energy" (p. 49) when you find yourself feeling a bit stressed.
Writing Assignment (1-2 Pages)
After reading the Chapter on Relaxation and the article by Judge Gold, write:
— a 1 page paper setting forth (1) which relaxation practice you found most useful, if any, and why, (2) your understanding of the relationship between Mindfulness Practices and Settling Techniques and, (3) how you might integrate this understanding into your life as a law students and future lawyer.
—a 1 page reflection on the Judge Gold article and the Christina Sava video interview.
